What the critics are saying about ‘I AM’

EP cover2It’s totally over-the-top exciting to be connecting with my community through my music!!! Putting ‘I AM’ out there is showing people dimensions of my being they might not have been aware of and giving me momentum to share even more of myself with the world in a truly empowered and expansive way.

My CD release party last week was an absolute success and has performers and audience alike just buzzing with good vibes and inspiring energy. How does it get any better?! Oh, it does…. !!!

It’s been SUCH an honor to be featured in two local newspapers and have ‘I AM’ praised by highly respected music critics. I invite you to check out the reviews!

Jeff Miers of The Buffalo News writes, ‘Laura Aiisha’s EP ‘I Am’ is packed with messages of positivity and empowerment, its combination of reggae, world-beat, R&B, soul and dance music offering the properly ebullient accompaniment to Haykel’s sensuous, soulful singing. Coupled with Haykel’s assertively optimistic lyrics, a viscerally uplifting atmosphere ensues.’

Frank de Blase, the ahhmazing music critic at the Rochester City Newspaper writes, ‘With her exquisitely smooth alto, Laura Aiisha balances secular accessibility with an irresistible spirituality and a way cool splash of old school soul. This artist has blossomed exponentially to embrace so much more of the world and its music. I’ve got a feeling there’s more splendor to come from Laura Aiisha.’

I get by with a little help from my assistant ~ Inviting in a support team & utilizing them!

I’ve always wanted an assistant..  I used to work with people who had personal assistants and dream of what it would be like to have my own.  It used to seem like a far reaching fantasy, that i’d have to make a ton of money to have an assistant or be someone who was viewed as ‘important’ and ‘successful’ to have this type of support.  To keep it real, I did not deem myself worthy of having an assistant until I reached some conceived notion of what I thought signified success along with a certain level of financial gain in my career.   Recently I started to notice all of the time that was lost out of my day doing simple tasks.  I started opening up to having an assistant and what it would take to bring someone in.  I decided that I could take a leap of faith by attracting the right person in NOW, even though I’m in the early phase of building my business which includes getting my cash flow into the positive.   I’ve got to admit.. it was scary for me.  It brought my ‘stuff’ up in a major way.  I worried about how i’d … Continue reading

I am a Success now! Ignite gratitude.. Celebrate the little successes!

My twin sistar and I have been checking in every morning via phone or skype for the last few weeks in a commitment to show up fully each day and express what we desire to create and contribute, in alignment with our intentions and goals for 2012 and beyond.  It is an amazing practice and one that is absolutely holding me accountable and keeping me motivated on a daily basis! In my life I created a story about what I believe success is.. that I will be successful when I am making a lot of money, working on major projects which are receiving recognition worldwide, owning my own home, in a committed and thriving intimate partnership etc etc.. This story of what I ‘think’ success should look like has created many limitations to my life, caused me much grief and has also been an excuse to be very hard on myself for what I perceive to be ‘not making it yet.’ I was feeling triggered the other night before I went to bed.. old stories running through my head.. Wondering when my life will change?  When will it take on a whole new meaning?  When will I be doing what … Continue reading
