Drowning in boring? Get ready to Ignite… your love life!

Every day is an opportunity to love and be loved, however there is something that feels extra special about February. Not only is it the shortest month in all the year (and a leap year this year.. how cool!!), but it also means that spring is ever closer to warming our souls and uplifting our senses with the rebirth of everything (at least in the northern hemisphere)! Can I get a Woo Woo?!! Recently, I had the pleasure of chatting with two powerhouse execs in Buffalo, NY, who have a podcast for women, by women. Julia and Anne are a frickin’ hoot and I was thrilled to sit down with them for their Valentine’s day episode and get jiggy talking about relational intimacy on the Snyder on Call Podcast! Focus, Contentment and How I’m Choosing to Be Here Now

I’ve had this reminder in my calendar since doing Marie Forleo’s B School a few years ago. It pops up on Saturday mornings and reminds me to let go of what’s no longer feeling juicy. I see this reminder often, but usually ignore it or skirt over it saying to myself, ‘What’s not feeling juicy?! I can’t even think about that right now,’ or ‘Everything in my life is feeling juicy!’ When I think of this I chuckle and hear a little… ‘yea right’ in my heart. Here’s the thing. I’ve been an overachiever all my life. Always trying to be the best, always trying to do several things at once partly because I’m super crazy creative and have so many ideas and so much energy channeling through me, and partly because I’m trying to ‘get somewhere.’ Always thinking of the end result, and unwilling or unable to be fully content with the present. This is not news to me. My first life coach Julie Cramer used to say to me 8 years ago, ‘What would it be like to just be content with where you are? No striving for something better or to be better?! This message has stuck … Continue reading

Join us TODAY! The Get Up Movement :: From Woe is Me to Empowered and Free

Bless Up ma famille! I want to share with you a bit about my experience hitting ‘rock bottom.’ When I look back on my life, there are a few specific times that I can think of when I truly hit bottom. And when you hit that place, you know you’re at the bottom because literally, there’s nowhere to go but up. Can you relate?! The last major bottom I hit was at 29 years young. I fell in love with this man who was not ready, willing or able to love me fully. There were several reasons why this didn’t work (and ended in utter disaster); however, what occurred to me in the aftermath was that I had no idea at that time how to love MYSELF. I also realized that I was putting so much of my own ‘stuff’ on this situation, trying to get my needs met through other people who were saying know, but I couldn’t/wouldn’t hear it. It was heartbreaking, it brought me to my knees and broke me to the core.. and then the most incredible things started to happen. I took a STAND for myself and my life. I told myself, ‘Laura Haykel.. you’re … Continue reading

I'm my Heroine!

Upon reviewing a link on my Facebook page for Joseph Campbell’s The Hero’s Journey: http://vimeo.com/19147130 I was reminded of a profound awakening I had recently.  Here is a little story about it.. I recently started to take Bikam yoga and i’ve got to tell you.. I feel like a real champ every time I make it through the class and come out walking on my own two feet, alive and well! Last Sunday as I lay on the floor 60 minutes into class next to a woman who looked to be about 6 months pregnant. I kept thinking to myself “She is my hero..” and felt called to whisper this to her during the class. I wondered why I kept hearing this in my head and decided that instead of saying anything I would simply hold space for this message.. and then I had an ‘Aha!’ moment as I brought the energy into myself and re~framed this message. The message came loud and clear, “I AM my hero” and it resonated so powerfully as I repeated a few more times “I AM MY Hero!!” The energy I felt in my body as I said this to myself was expansive and … Continue reading
